How to Pull Off an Amazing Marriage Proposal

On October 18, 2012 by GenWhyGuy

Even if you’re a guy that doesn’t have a romantic bone in his body, if you think that you’re ready to propose to your girlfriend, there are some simple things that you can do to pull off an amazing proposal.  Not only will you impress her, you will impress your friends, her friends, and maybe even strangers (which can be pretty cool ;) ).

I’ve been helping guys propose to their girlfriends for years now and the following are tips that are very simple but make a big difference with your marriage proposal.

Sentimental Item From The

Beginning

Women love if you’ve put a lot of thought into something that you do for them.  If you’re going to propose, it’s always a good idea to incorporate something meaningful from the beginning of your relationship. This could be an item such as a souvenir of where you first met or even a location such as where you had your first date.

The thing to remember is that if it’s something important within your relationship or to her, then you will be in good shape if you incorporate it.

Amazing Views

There’s a reason why it’s cliche that women love sunsets on the beach… it’s because of the views and the romance.  When you are making your plans for your proposal, try to find a location with amazing views.  No matter where you will be proposing, some place has to exist like this. Some good places might be the beach, a nice park, a rooftop, or a hilltop.

Live Musician

There’s just something special about having a live musician at your proposal.  If you want to make it extra romantic, have the musician be a violinist playing “your” song.  When I say “your” song I mean the song that has meaning to your relationship, not your own personal favorite big-hair 80’s rock song.

Document Your Proposal

Because anything that happens these days is on Facebook or YouTube within 3 seconds of it happening, it’s a good idea to document your proposal with a photographer.  If you can afford a videographer that will capture raw footage and then could make a trailer out of it afterwards, you will have something truly amazing that will be easy to share and watch over again with your future wife down the road.

After Celebration

This is especially important if your proposal occurs during the day.  Once you have your proposal plan down and she says yes, you want a way to keep the high going.  You don’t just want to go home and then just go about your business as usual.   Plan to go somewhere to celebrate and share the news that you’ve taken the next big step in your relationship.  Good places could be a nice restaurant or a weekend trip to a romantic location.
